This section shows how to create a table. The tag used to do this is (what else?!) <TABLE>. Think of a table as a picture frame that will surround your text or image. A table can have as many rows and cells as you would like.

Here's the code for a basic table:

<Table border=8 bgcolor=green>
<tr>
<td align=center>
This is a table!
</tr>
</table>

And here's what we just did:

This is a table!

Now, let's explain what all these tags mean.

<Table> Tells your browser that a table is going here. Also of it's color and size of the border.
<tr> Indicates table row. It is used whenever you want a new row to begin. A table can have as many rows as you would like. This one has three.
<td> Indicates table data. It is placed before any information that you want in your table and is used to start a new colomn. You can have your data appear to the left, center, or right by using the align attribute.

Here's a table with 3 rows:

This is a table! This is a table! This is a table!

Here's an example of a table with 3 rows and 6 cells:

This is a table! This is a table! This is a table!
This is a table! This is a table! This is a table!

Here's the same table with the border twice the size:
